We are delighted to announce that Element 4 has made a ‘Pledge to Net Zero’.
Pledge to Net Zero is an initiative led by Society for the Environment (SocEnv), Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), IEMA and The Environmental Industries Commission and is the UK’s first industry commitment requiring science-based targets to tackle greenhouse gas emissions.
To begin this journey, we will:
1) By May 2020, establish and commit to targets to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.
2) Publicly report on our emissions and progress each year.
3) Publish research or thought leadership on practical steps to deliver a net zero greenhouse gas economy.
Join us by making a pledge to tackle climate change together. For more information visit https://lnkd.in/g3He6u7.
We’re delighted to announce that Woking Borough Council has been awarded a Fitwel Certification System 1 Star Rating for their Civic Offices in Woking town centre. This makes Woking the first local authority and public sector organisation in both Europe and the UK to receive this award demonstrating their commitment to the health and wellbeing of staff and residents. Element 4 Group Ltd is proud to have assisted Woking Borough Council to become part of the global movement in Building Health for All.
A newly published directory shows that Element 4’s Georgia Elliott-Smith is the world’s leading Fitwel consultant on schemes outside the USA, with more projects having achieved or working towards certification than any other practice.
The global Fitwel project directory, published on 9th August by the Center for Active Design, shows that worldwide Perkins & Will and Gensler lead the pack, but between them have only seven projects outside the USA. Georgia is in third place globally with eight projects, all in the UK. WSP and Arup have six and four projects respectively.
80% of Fitwel-certified properties are currently in the USA, but uptake of the standard is quickly growing elsewhere.

Last night, Georgia Elliott-Smith was invited to speak on the panel of the inaugral UK Fitwel Embassy event at Schroders’ new Dept.W building in Whitechapel.
A lively debate took place around practical application of the standard and lessons learned since Fitwel launched in 2017. Georgia says “The event heralds an explosion in UK Fitwel certifications with leading investors and employers recognising the incredible value of implementing wellbeing features in property design and operation.
As the UK’s leading Fitwel consultant, I am proud to promote these values and educate the industry on the powerfully positive impact the built environment can have on health and wellbeing.”
