Georgia Elliott-Smith BEng, MIEMA, CEnv
Georgia is an Environmental Engineer with over 20 years’ experience as a sustainability professional in the property and construction industry. She is a WELL Building Standard Accredited Professional and Fitwel Ambassador, a Chartered Environmentalist, Member of the Institute of Environmental Management of Assessment, and a UNESCO Special Junior Envoy for Youth & the Environment.
In 2003, Georgia established sustainability consultancy Element 4 and has worked with organisations such as the Bank of England, LandSec, Deloitte, Accenture, Mace and DEFRA to deliver more sustainable projects and business practices. A critic of traditional approaches to environmental management and CSR, Georgia has developed an approach she calls “disruptive sustainability” – dumping the KPI’s, cutting out the bland reports and making sustainability everyone’s job.
Shaun Hill BSc (Hons)
Sustainability & Wellbeing Associate
Shaun delivers healthy building solutions as an ‘Accredited Professional’ for standards WELL, Fitwel and RESET Air. As well as his 15 years’ experience in the construction industry, Shaun has experience working with the standards on projects enhancing environmental conditions improving health, productivity and wellbeing – adding commercial value to buildings across all sectors. Shaun has a key interest in driving high performing environments through technology and data analysis and keeps abreast of all innovations surrounding IoT (Internet of things) and interconnected technology driving smart building principals for health, wellbeing and energy performance. Shaun takes with a client-focused approach from concept consultation, project management, data analysis through to final solution and certification.
Rachel Smith BA (Hons), MSc
Junior Sustainability & Wellbeing Consultant
After deciding on a career change, Rachel graduated from Keele University with an MSc Distinction. Since joining Element 4 in March 2020, she has achieved multiple Fitwel certifications for clients, and, most recently, one of the few 3-star certifications achieved within Europe.
Rachel enjoys experiencing new cultures and has travelled to over a dozen countries in the past two years alone, including living and volunteering in Canada and America. Rachel cares deeply about many things including the environment, strong mental health for all and social justice. She’s driven by the desire to make a positive impact, and has happily ensured this is the focus of her career.
Stuart Smith BSc (Hons)
Stuart has 26 years experience in the construction industry. Starting out pursuing a career in Quantity Surveying, he has worked as a qualified QS, Cost Consultant & Project Manager with some of the most well-known organisations in the UK including HSBC, Sainsbury’s and Marks & Spencer.
In 2004, Stuart became Head of Cost Management for M&S, a position he held for 11 years, managing a total spend of over £3.6bn worldwide. His last role at M&S was leading the implementation of a complete IT solution for all M&S Property activity, working with IBM to revolutionise the way end-to-end property transactions are managed.
After a sabbatical to grow closer to his children, Element 4 is a new challenge and aligns with his personal goal to do more good.
Brenda Sullivan BA (Hons), ISSP-SA, CIPS, CFTe
Corporate Sustainability Strategist
Brenda is a highly experienced corporate sustainability practitioner specialising in risk management, sustainability and ethical sourcing. Formerly Head of Global Procurement and Global Head of Risk Management & Sustainability at a major international foods brand, Brenda was instrumental in creating corporate CSR strategy and implementing action through effective working groups.
She has a degree in business psychology from Harvard University and worked for many years in the financial sector as a researcher and strategist for commodities, energy and power.
Brenda is a Sustainability Associate with the International Society of Sustainability Professionals and has a certificate in Ethical Sourcing from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply. She is a member of the Institute of Risk Management, and a Certified Financial Technician with the Intl Federation of Technical Analysts.
Bysshe Wallace BA (Hons)
Sustainability & Wellbeing Associate
Since 2006, Bysshe has been delivering sustainability consultancy services for a range of unique and mainstream building types in the commercial, private and public sectors. She is a qualified BREEAM Accredited Professional (AP) and BREEAM Assessor. She is also a qualified GSAS CGP, CfSH and SAP Assessor with many assessments carried out to date for developments across the UK achieving the required ratings. Through her work, her aim has provided assistance and advice at all RIBA stages, to achieve targets set for Energy performance, Life Cycle Analysis, sustainable materials and BREEAM, Code and SAP assessments.
Ann Yip BA (Hons), MSc
Marketing and Executive Assistant
Ann is very dedicated to marketing. After graduating from two marketing degrees, Ann went on to pursue her career in marketing in different industries including digital marketing, hospitality and manufacturing. Before taking a career break to raise her family, Ann has worked as a marketing specialist to deliver market intelligence to internal stakeholders from a financial perspective. In 2020, Ann resumed to develop her career and joined Element 4, a place that enables her to endorse climate actions, something she has always wanted to do.
